www.anglesey-today.com Grand Princess is the largest cruise ship to visit Holyhead on Anglesey. Bad weather delayed disembarkation.
This was aboard on the Caribbean Princess on Dec. 11, 2007. We sailed just north of tropical storm Olga, but it was still rough seas and very windy. The creaky sounds were the ship rockin back and forth. And you can hear the waves banging against the ship. I couldn’t sleep all night long!

For more info, go to – If you think the plans for Royal Caribbeans Oasis class are wild, wait until you hear about Princess Kaguya, a city-at-sea concept that’s been presented to Finland’s Aker Yards, according to media reports. If financed and ultimately built, the ship would measure 450000 tons; that’s more than one-and-a-half times the size of The Oasis (222000 tons). It’s not a cruise line behind the idea, but a company called Japan Contents Network Inc., whose CEO Hajime Tanaka has launched three golf courses and a Formula One circuit. And the 20-deck ship itself would operate differently from the cruise ships most travelers are used to. In addition to carrying a maximum number of 8400 passengers, up to 10000 visitors could board in each port to partake of its urban amenities. JCN has even considered selling some rooms as residences. The proposed design on its project Web site, princesskaguya.com, includes: Three …

In this video, Betty and her husband, Rick, go to Cumberland Falls State Park in search of a moonbow. A moonbow occurs in only two places in the world–at Cumberland Falls in Kentucky, and at the Victoria Falls in Africa. A moonbow is the same as a rainbow, except that the full moon provides the light that interacts with water suspended in the air. It is difficult to see a moonbow, because it only occurs on the few days before, during, and after a full moon when the weather conditions are favorable. Rick and I chose to search for the moonbow at Cumberland Falls on Saturday, because it was two days before the full moon and the weather was reasonably good. This video shows us arriving at the State Park and hiking along the Cumberland River, eventually arriving at a view of the Falls. After seeing the Falls, we had lunch and dinner at the park lodge restaurant. We had to wait until at least 10:00 pm for the chance of viewing the moonbow. I will continue our day in the upcoming videos. I hope you enjoy this glimpse of the wild beauty of my home state of Kentucky.
