Former Opposition Leader Mia Amor Mottley asked a series of questions of Prime Minister Stuart indicating that Barbadians are going to sleep every night, none the wiser on a range of worrying issues. At a branch meeting of the BLP branch of St. James North at St. Alban’s Primary she openly asked the Prime Minister the following:- CLICO 1. Why did the Government let the Oversight Committee come to an end 1 year ago this week and leave Clico without any oversight over it’s management decisions? Will the PM indicate whether any payments were made to Clico in respect of Leroy Parris’ gratuity that would have been banned if the Government Oversight Committee was still in place? 2. Why did the Government not act with alacrity in appointing a Judicial Manager? 3. Why is the Government not telling Clico and later now the Judicial Manager (who acts now as Manager like a receiver) that they have to take action to defend the Supreme Court Suit that Leroy Parris has brought against Clico for more than million so that he is not given preferred status over the hundreds of Barbadians who are unsecured in trying to get their money back from the EFPAs? Why is the Gov’t not stating publicly that Leroy Parris should be held accountable and should be countersued as the Central Bank of Trinidad has sued Duprey and Others in Clico Trinidad? 4. Why is his Government not telling the public of Barbaods and in particular the Clico EFPA Depositors that they are entitled under section 61(3) of

CMRC 2010 Round 2 in Barbados

katie Taylor wins world title No.3 in Barbados 18th of September 2010

 

Ireland’s Caribbean queen Katie Taylor claimed her third World title on the trot at the 6th AIBA Women’s World Championships following a magnificent victory over Cheng Dong of China in Barbados. Katie Taylor won her first World title in New Delhi in 2006 and succesfully defended her crown in Ningbo City, China two years later. A Living Legend .
