I have a 2 year old son and my husband and I have been traveling with him since he was 6 months old. No need to listen to everyone telling you to leave them at home. There are tons of family friendly resorts in the Caribbean and Mexico. We are planning a trip to the FDR Resort in Jamaica where they actually assign you a "vacation nanny" for the duration of your stay! There are several resorts that offer child care for infants. This way, you can still spend time with them and have a blast but can leave them with competent people if you and you loved one wants to be alone or if you just want to read a book and not have to chase after them.

Some resorts worth looking into are:

FDR Resorts & FDR Pebbles in Jamaica

Beaches Resorts in Caribbean

Club Med Resorts worldwide.

You can also look into a cruise. Carnival and Disney have awesome kids programs with nurserys for the smallest guests. Take a look around and don't feel defeated. You will definitely find something that will fit your family style and budget. Good luck and have fun!

My husband and I spent our 25th wedding anniversarry on St Lucia and loved every minute, staying at Almond Morgan bay where we had great food, accommodation and fantastic trips whale watching, rain forest and island tour by private taxi. A fantastic holiday and a destination that we will return to soon.

From all the resorts on the island, I would say this is the most romantic. It has the feel of old Jamaica, but with today's comforts and luxury mixed in. A perfect honeymoon escape. All my guests have left with amazing memories.

Caribbean Feedback: I think Jamaican people are among some of tthe friendliest in the world.

And to Delta104 I say, Kingston is a great city. I travel there on a regular basis too. It is dirty, I cannot disagree with that, but as far as it being dangerous I can only say, just be careful. It's like any other large city. I have been into supposedly dangerous parts of west Kingston like Tivoli and Arnett Gardens and have always been treated with the utmost respect and kindness.

I suppose it might have something to do with attitude. . .

Caribbean Feedback: I agree with macaw lover. This is a once in a liftime experience and why would you go online for expertise when you can call a travel agent and they'll do the work for you. Don't they travel the most?

Caribbean Feedback: I love the food, my favorite by the way, love the ganja, the music, the abundance of water unlike other dry islands of the Caribbean, love the artristy, the beaches...I once extended to two weeks there and camped in Negril, Bamboo Roots, pretty nice camping ground on the beach...love the Dunn's River Falls...i regret only climbing it once and the people...Had some problems but still, it's a very special island...Peace and happy travels...
