We should never let the St.Lucian culture down.Teach the school children how to dance the quadrille and speak patios. I left my island thirty five years ago and speak patios to my kids and grand kids and they all understant even though the grands are all Americans I’m proud to be a St.Lucian American.

Can anyone tell me what you call that bright colored fabric the dancers were wearing? In the Virgin Islands we call it “madras”. This quadrille dance is a little similar to ours (especially the music), but we have “callers” who call out the next moves to the dancers.
