In the Bahamas, the weather forecast calls for scattered thunderstorms what does that really mean?

Can you answer Ann’s question about Caribbean?:
I know that if you are by a beach storms blow in and out. So people who live there or near a beach could you help me with this question. I leave for the Bahamas 9/22/08 this Monday and they are calling for that all week. Just curious as to will I see sun light at all?

Caribbean Feedback: It means that it will thunderstorm on and off
Caribbean Feedback: Scattered Thunderstorms basically means that instead of one giant cloud to cause thunderstorms, you have a bunch of little broken up thunderstorm clouds. Basically, it’ll thunderstorm for like 5 minutes and end, then it might start back up randomly.
Caribbean Feedback: There’s one going on right now. Suddenly it clouds over, you see flashes of lightening and hear peals of thunder and the rain pounds down for a time and then it all clears away and the sky turns innocently blue again. Just plan your activities around the risk of a bit of rain here and there, but look forward to some good weather too. Happy holiday!
Caribbean Feedback: I live in the bahamas it means that there are thundertstorms off and on and they are basically scattered around the area
Caribbean Feedback: There will be storms but they will come and go and they won’t be in all areas, so basically you can still enjoy your vacation and the beach but be flexible in your scheduling.
Caribbean Feedback: It means there are thunderstorms all over and on and off yes you will see A LOT of sun light!!!!!! it gets SO hot!!!!!but at night its SO nice !!!!!!! and sometimes they just say that!
Caribbean Feedback: I live in Abaco, and they have been saying scattered thunderstorms for the past couple of weeks. I think it has sprinkled 1 or 2 times and today I heard the first clap of thunder since the tropical storm that went by at the beginning of Sept. They pretty much forecast scattered thunderstorms all summer to be on the safe side since they can form so quickly, but they usually don’t last long.
