Where should I go for a Caribbean vacation?

Can you answer Mikki Sue71’s question about Caribbean?:

My husband and I want to go to the Caribbean on vacation in November (over Thanksgiving). I have earned enough miles that the airfare is free and my parents can get us a timeshare at almost any island. I have two kids ages 5 (girl) and 3 (boy). Both love animals. My son really likes fish. I would like great shopping and historical sites. My husband likes to golf. Any suggestions on which island to visit? Our top thoughts are Puerto Rico, Caymen Island and Aruba. Thanks!

Caribbean Feedback: Caymen Island(s) is a good choice. However, if you’re flexible, Barbados is another choice - an excellent one, maybe you can look into that.

Let me tell you about Barbados based on personal experiences: Oistins known as ‘fishing town’ is famous for its frying fishes - they offer some excellent dishes that is unique - on every weekend Fridays and Saturdays. Not only that but there’ll be some music and dancing.

Bridgetown, its capital, is known for some duty free shopping even has some historical sites to visit. Duty free shopping can be done at any Cave Shepherd locations especially the one in the capital.

As for animals, you can check Wildlife Reserve, it’s like a zoo but better and is located across the road from Farley Hill National Park in St. Peter.

As for historical sites, I can easily think of the Barbados Muesum and like I mention in Bridgetown, the capital, too.

    Fishing either game or sports:

To add, Barbados does have golf.

    Hope this helps.

Caribbean Feedback: Aruba is very windy, might not be great to play golf!

Caribbean Feedback: Puerto Rico has great shopping. Plaza Las America’s mall is the biggest in the caribbean & Old San Juan has unique botiques. Old San Juan is very historical. It’s the 2nd oldest city in the entire western hempishere. Check out el Morro Fort. There are plenty of world class gold courses in PR for your husband to enjoy. There is so much for kids to do too. Lots of beaches have fish and all of PR has lizards, Iguanas & Coqui frogs. There are some zoo’s there too. I think you should look into PR more. Goodluck!
