Caribbean Feedback: the bahams atlantis, paridise island go on costco.com and search costco travel winter/spring 2008carrribian and above label
Caribbean Feedback: I disagree that Atlantis is a “budget-friendly” destination. It’s quite expensive.
Cost will vary, depending on when you go. Mid-December through April or May are more expensive than during the summer on most islands. The Dominican Republic has many all-inclusives, which may be budget-friendly. Aruba often has some good deals.
You might want to consider a cruise. It’s an easy, relaxing way to see several islands.
Check some of the “package” websites, like Apple Vacations or Cheap Caribbean or go to a travel agency – AAA is good, if you’re a member.
Go to your library or bookstore and get a Caribbean guidebook to get an overview of the different islands’ attractions and costs. Or go to websites like Fodors.com, Frommers.com, BudgetTravel.com or TripAdvisor.com. Lots of great info.
Caribbean Feedback: Antigua is really nice. $3000 US can get you pretty far. They have a new sandals over their try them. Sandals is having a 50% off promotion right now.
Caribbean Feedback: I use this site for everything. and Atlantis is not cheap. you will find something here. Depends where you are from.
Caribbean Feedback: I just got back from 10 days in Costa Rica and it was fabulous! The ten day tour cost $1200 and it included all transportation on land (not air fare there) fabulous hotels, and meals!! It was with I don’t know how they can afford to make this trip so cheap! We had a fabulous Costa Rican guide and driver and we drove around in a beautiful motor coach. We visited both coasts (Caribbean and Pacific), two volcanoes, a rainforest, and two cloud forests. We saw three different kinds of monkeys, toucans, parrots, sloths, etc. It was a fabulous trip. We stayed in the jungle for two nights! The air fare from Virginia to San Jose, CR was almost $700. Good luck!
